My plants were looking a bit under the weather. I was thinking it wad lacking nutrients …i had ran out of grow for like 2 weeks…but ended up pruning back the sucker branches and 2 days later they are looking superb. Thanks.
ACCIDENTALLY I now have a 4.5 foot tall plant growing right next to the sidewalk in the back yard. Just trimmed a bunch of fan leaves and all lower popcorns about 3 weeks ago and again today. I now have all tops. I’ve never grown outside. Anything else you might recommend? The plant is a lot bigger than anything I’ve ever grown and looks like its in the pre-flower stage. Fertilizer or go all natural? 🤷🏼♂️ Too bad it’s not a forum, a photo would probably help.
Thank you for your tutorial brother I have problems with cutting on my plants but I will be more confident about defoliation. It's just hard to cut my girls. Thanx Chief. Cheers.
"The presence of water is a crucial factor in destroying or inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms with isopropyl alcohol. Water acts as a catalyst and plays a key role in denaturing the proteins of vegetative cell membranes. 70% IPA solutions penetrate the cell wall more completely which permeates the entire cell, coagulates all proteins, and therefore the microorganism dies. Extra water content slows evaporation, therefore increasing surface contact time and enhancing effectiveness. Isopropyl alcohol concentrations over 91% coagulate proteins instantly. Consequently, a protective layer is created which protects other proteins from further coagulation. Solutions > 91% IPA do kill bacteria, but sometimes require longer contact times for disinfection, and enable spores to lie in a dormant state without being killed."
I like the diatomaceous earth ring idea. I'm gonna borrow that. This is also good pruning advice. A lot of outdoor growers prune using indoor methods and take off way too much. I feel like topping is a waste of time outdoors personally Last year I was bending the tops back in my outdoor veg period then I was topping the branches at a node site just before they got taller than the original apex site. Is that a valid method you think? I would then untie the bent original top and let it straighten out as everything caught up with each other and made a pretty nice round bushy shape with some nice Y shaped branches with 2 tops. I got a pretty crazy yield from the two Sweet Skunk X C99 plants I did that to but I forgot to prune off the low sub branches like you illustrate here so there was a good amount of larf to sift through as well. I might combine both methods on afew plants and just let them grow naturally while pruning the inner junk to keep em clean and breathing.
Thanks for mentioning to sterilize the cutters. I've been going from plant to plant in my entire vegetable garden cutting without a single sterilization over the past year! I'll be cleaning them now with the isopropyl alochol.
Thanks man, doing my big clean up tomorrow, have small flowers already thinking i get stuck in and give it a 1/5 internal over haul Im in Australia so our out door season are opposite…. unfortunately its against the laws to grow here in all states but 1 so i have had to limit to 7ft tall…. and they have barreled out to 7ft wide with top bending. I guess if i can ask, my plants have just started budding i have popcorn down low, should i trim now or just leave them? what would you do?

Seen this guy drill a hole on the bottom main stem inserted a stick or nail a week before harvest has anyone seen this done what are the benefits or is this something you don't recommend
to me looks like you need some serious pruning on your plants.Way to many sucker leaves on them. The plants need sun all the way through them to reach the inside as well.
Definitely agree i prune my green house plant (king lui, motor breath, gg4 and riddler before they start flowering. I prune 1/4 from the bottom and i been doing this for almost 3 years and so far its really proven that when you prune your plant it give you more and big nugs it also help to avoid pop corn nugs👍😂
Let those beauties grow…. Fertilize the chit out of them……

Wow so beautiful
I’m an idiot. I cut the bottom two branches… might’ve wasted some good buds. Also, might’ve pruned it too much… it’s looking way too skinny 😔😔

Once every 3-4 weeks clean interior foliage out keeping plant well vented and growth concentrated on outer buds.
70% isopropyl is better :

Hey did you top your plant as well?
Yea many a failed crops succumbed to mold from rain in late autumn. Sometimes the big water leaves actually protect buds from water so… Never know
