Bottom line- GOP hates immigration of non-hispanic whites and cannabis because firstly, most will vote democratic, as we are seeing in California, the suburbs ( the following suburban cities of Denver, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas,Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New Jersey) and cannabis users will buy more of it if legal and that means less money to buy beer, liquor, and tobacco. Tobacco farmers are a crucial GOP party base in states like North Carolina, and these industries greatly donate to republicans. Studies from Canada and legal states show less money spent on alcohol and tobacco. Plus we know republicans and even democrats used cannabis to target minorities. A staff member of President Nixon famously stated the White House used weed to go after blacks and put them in prison to give the impression that they are tough on crime. But all these immigrants have now transformed much of America from red states to blue states and red counties to blue such as Orange County in California.

Trump wants to have his cake and eat it too! He tells GOP senators who co-sponsored the States Act, in 2018, that he will respect state's rights to legalize cannabis, but in 2019 and 2020 says he will not adhere to the Congressional rider on a Bill that forbids the Justice Department from enforcing federal laws regarding medical weed. He will NOT re-schedule cannabis from Number 1 to Number 2 or 3. Number 1 means cannabis is treated the same as heroin and states cannabis has no medical value. This despite Trump saying he supports medical cannabis and knowing people who are greatly helped by its use. And now, just last week (August 2020) Trump in Wisconsin tells a crowd which included former governor Scott Walker, that cannabis legalization being on the ballot cost him and other republicans votes in the 2018 election. And that it brings out more democratic and liberal voters. Trump said cannabis must be left off the ballots and urged them to not put it on. But Trump failed to realize it was a ballot initiative put forth by voters not lawmakers. Funny how JUST DAYS LATER the Arizona Supreme Court ruled cannabis legalization CAN BE ON THE 2020 General Election Ballot! Also, Nebraska may have a medical weed ballot initiative on as well, and the state's 2nd Congressional District is a swing House seat. Obama carried it in 2008 and with it came one electoral college vote. The GOP must take a neutral stance on this issue after 2020! Be against it personally but say you will respect the vote if its approved.

I am floored by how little the news media today understand local legal proceedings. Yes, the AZ Secy of State verified the signatures, but the AZ Supreme Court didn't ok Prop 207 for the ballot until Aug 20, 2020. It was an unanimous decision, but it could have gone the other way. Now, Aug 21st (not Aug 11th), we can celebrate. The initiative is officially on the ballot. I will be soooooo disappointed if it gets voted down again. 2020 has sucked so far and a loss here would just be the last straw in my year.

    Stop!
    Don't do it!!
    It's a trap!!!
You already have the (medical) loophole in arizona. This new law will just add-on to older laws, and they always "sneak in" luxury sales taxes w/ more gov't bureaucracy!
    A. Legalizing MJ = tyranny, law on top of law, bigger gov't, and "sneak in" luxury TAXes.
    B. Decriminalize MJ = total freedom, removes existing criminal statute. releases non-violent pothead prisoners. no new laws needed. no new taxes needed. smaller gov't.

This is how they get us!!!!
Arizona gov't will control the market.
    Gov't will inflate costs.
Gov't will lead to inflated prices
    Gov't will shrink profit margins
    Gov't will grow
    Gov't politicians will get rich
Vote NO! Just get a doctor's note and you'll remain tax-free. Otherwise demand Decriminalization.

And whoever is cheering 40% sales taxes put upon someone else is fascist and unAmerican.

Whatever the shortcomings of 207 might be, prohibition is even worse. STOP ARRESTING PEOPLE FOR POSSESSING A PLANT! End the injustice of the war on weed by any means necessary. Vote YES on Prop. 207

I vote NO! The state just wants more taxes. They could care less about the use of marijuana. They just want to cash in on another commodity. Resist the taxation and vote no.

Marijuana is not a “gateway” drug. Alcohol is a gateway drug. MJ can help because it is mild and acts as a REVERSE gateway drug. It is good medicine. Salt is good, too. Too much will kill you.

First of all stop calling it “marijuana”. That’s a term that was invented to make it sound like a terrible Hispanic drug. Cannabis is a harmless plant and the fact that it was made illegal is the reason too many people are in jail for non-violence. If you’re going to be against something maybe try to understand it first. No one in their right mind opposes the freedom of people pursuing happiness when it doesn’t hurt anyone. The gateway drug argument is so far from the truth it’s laughable at best, I would argue that having that opinion does more harm than Cannabis ever has.
