Do you find that using your instant pot for cannabis oil/butter stains the instant pot pot, meaning if you try to cook regular food in your instant pot it tastes/smells a little like weed? Should I purchase a separate pot for my instant pot to designate for cannabis oil making?

Thank you for the awesome videos! I have learned so much from you.💛✨ I made a potent coconut oil infusion with shake using the instant pot method from this video (decarb + infuse in the same jar). I used solid coconut oil (Vita Coco Coconut Oil – https://www.vitacost.com/vita-coco-organic-coconut-oil ). My goal was to take this as a sublingual tincture – not add it to food. Never having done this, I was not sure how the infusion would resolidify, so I strained it, and left it in a clean measuring cup overnight. As suspected, by morning it was a combo of liquid and solid (much like the original product). That said, my questions are regarding storage and consumption. I had bought Boston round bottles with measured eyedroppers, but they now seem impractical given the oil resolidifies. (I realize now this should have been obvious – LOL.) Should I instead store the resolidified concoction in a wide mouth jar? Is it better to simply scoop out the solid in 1/4 teaspoons (just over 1 ml) per "serving" OR could I stick the jar in the microwave for a few seconds and melt it down so I can consume the dose in liquid form? If microwave melting is an option, can the same mixture be melted and resolidified repeatedly or will it ruin the potency or hurt the oil? Thank you for your time and advice!! You are an inspiration. 💪✨

What if I don’t have a manual option? Mine is a Crockpot brand…. 🙁 I’d like to do the first step, as an attempt to make cannabis tea, would that work? Not infusing it?

Wait….I’ve been slow cooking my cannabis oil and the instructions told me NOT to go over 200°… so I’m so confused.

Do you find that this works as well as a traditional method? I use the sous vide method and get pretty good results. Just wondering if the results are very similar or without the time do the results come out?

I used this method twice…. No smell! What's the ratio for cannabis to butter or oil? Like for the small guy, 3.5g

Very helpful video – thank you 🙏 Do you have any experience or info on using fresh (not cured) flower – if it makes a difference?

Is curing merely for making the flower combustible? If that's the case, maybe it's a step that can be omitted, when making an oil-infusion?

great video, does it matter what size instant pot you use ? I have a 3 quart one. Is it better to stand up the jar or lay it on its side ? Would using MCT oil with the same pressure times be ok?

I have been using the Intstant pot since last spring. I decarb using an onyx lockable bowl, same amount of time as your video except I will try the 10 minute natural release before venting. This way, I can decarb 29gms at a time. As for canabutter/oil, I have been using the same process. Anyone know if it is the same process as MCT oil?

CBD activates at a higher temp than THC. How do you handle the discrepancy to maximize both.

Forget the strainer and/or cheesecloth, use a single coffee cup plunger. Plunge down as hard as you can , pour in another container, repeat 3 times and it's good to last drop.

It would be actually really helpful if you actually showed the inside the pot when you put the mason jar in. I'm reading g comments and I see exploding mason jars as a very real problem and possibility. If your way isn't exploding jars regularly then can you show your full process please. Simply saying how much water your putting in isn't really good enough. Mainly because you said 2 different depths of water in this video. First you said for decarb you have the water halfway up the jar. Then on your demo your now saying make sure the water is covering the jar?? I'm confused and showing your steps instead of speaking them is the answer. It's also the reason why people watch youtube to actually see. Or I'd read blogs🌻

    Hello,
My first attempt at decarbing using a mason jar did not go well. When the time was up, I was greeted with an oz of my finest bud floating around in water and shards of glass in the bottom of my pot. Not a happy puppy!!!! I then came across a site using an airtight stainless steel container. Perfect! While these types of containers can be a little pricey they can be used for many other uses and I don't need to worry about a mason jar failing on me again.

The couple of youtube videos I've watched, including yours, about making cannaoil in the instant pot have all recommended using high pressure. Though I've also seen a few comments cautioning not to go over 250F, and concerns that the pressure cooker method may be too hot- depleting THC content. Who knows, without the proper science. But my IP Duo 6qt is rated 239-244F for high pressure, and 229-233F for low pressure. So wouldn't it just make more sense to play it safe and do it on low pressure? And wouldn't that also bring less risk of exploding jars?

Question… If the pot gets up to 242, then why do we need to decarb first and then infuse? Can it not all be done in one step?

I couldn't tell if you had the trivet in the pot. Would you recommend using the trivet to keep the jar and herb from being in contact with the bottom of the pot where the heater is, so it doesn't risk burning the herb?

Are there different time lengths to decarb/heatup. If I'm using more than 14g? Like if I want to male a whole ounce or 2? Do I decarb/heat longer? I'm making for someone who prefers edibles over smoke so I need to make alot. Thank you for your informative videos. I always love learning more and breaking the stigmas around cannabis.

I followed this recipe with fresh harvested buds, but my cannabis coconut oil smells burnt and doesn't smell like cannabis anymore. Did I burn it? I put the mason jar in the instant pot without the metal tray, did it burn the oil inside the mason jar? Is my oil trash or should I still try it?
